Thy foothills empurpled in gloaming Mt Studholme in sunset aglow, Waimate my heart turns while roaming To the best little town that I know Chorus Haerami [sic], kapai Waimate, Waituna, Wainono, Waihao, All circle hill-sheltered Waimate, The best little town that I know As sparkle in sunlight thy waters No landscape more beauty can show; The grace of the fern hath thy daughters, Oh the best little town that I know Chorus From Haka, through Tawai, to ocean, Wheat-laden thy fertile lands go. Thy sons bear the Empire devotion, Oh the best little town that I know. Chorus |
