Oral History recording of Miss Irene Gwenevere Olorenshaw Memories include Early Childhood, Nursing at Oamaru Hospital (1930 - 1939), her War service (1939 - 1945), as a Nurse and Matron at Oamaru (1945 to 1964) and Senior Citizens Club. In her early childhood memories she speaks of life as a child at Willowbridge and her school days at Arno and travel to Waimate High School via train. Working on the farm, harvesting & milking. Shopping in Waimate. Mobile shop. Amongst her Nursing days she also did Midwifery at Wellington, also nursed at Dunedin, London, Oamaru. Recording April 2000 |
