Waimate Cycling Club Member's ticket - issued for season 1890-1891. Detailed rules inside about what to wear and what the sound of different whistles mean. List of Officers and Committee members. The regulations state that the club uniform was grey tweed, single-breasted jacket, knee-breeches, cap with badge, and navy blue stockings. The rules also define the whistle calls made by the captain such as 'One prolonged whistle - to fall in and mount', 'One distinct whistle - to ride single file', ...'Three distinct whistles - to dismount', etc. The club was only open to gentlemen. |
