                                    One Cuban cigar box. - made from wood and covered in paper labels. - has separate lid which has the label for Calixto Lopez Habana, Flor Fina. - inside the lid there is a paper label with a picture of a large building, gold medals and Saint Louis 1904. - on the bottom of the box is label like a paper note sealing the box shut. Inside the box there is a collection of items: - a variety of buttons - large brass, smaller brass, leather and bakelite. - sealing wax - red and round in shape. - small leather strap. - a variety of backing clips for badges etc. - brass number '2' - 3 chevrons - 3 blues stripes and one red stripe. - one pack of Turkish cigarette papers. - 2 shoulder pips - metal. - 3 coins - one from East Africa & Uganda Protectorates.  |

                                Andrew Martin was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, 7/90, and served during World War One. He was born in Timaru, lived in Otaio on the family farm, and moved to Morven in the 1920's and farmed there until he retired. |
