4 NZ Army Spurs - from World War One - used by the Mounted Rifles. - all are made from nickel and are silver in appearance. - they are 'U' shaped with a length of metal at the back holding a coin. - at the front of the spur has buckled leather strap that goes over the boot and the spur is at the back of the boot. - one pair of the spurs has an extra leather patch on the leather strap which would be on top of the boot. |

Andrew Martin was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, 7/90, and served during World War One. He was born in Timaru, lived in Otaio on the family farm, and moved to Morven in the 1920's and farmed there until he retired. |
